The other axis: how a plan limits cover
Within any cover area, plans still differ in what their limits attach to. This is the single most common way a comparison misleads, so we never blend these groups.
- Per confinement
- Limits apply to each hospital stay. A long or repeated admission can exhaust a line more than once in a year.
- Annual limit
- One pot for the policy year. Whatever the claim, it draws down the same annual limit.
- Lump sum per illness
- A fixed sum paid per covered illness, not a reimbursement of costs incurred.
- As per schedule
- Each line has its own stated limit; the schedule, not a single overall figure, defines the cover.
